My name is Robert Bear, host of the Invention Stories Podcast and I have been podcasting for over three years. We share the journey the inventor goes on since having the idea on the Invention Stories Podcast. We are currently sharing the inventRight Mini-Series on Season 2.

Here is our latest episode:

I know first hand how challenging it can be to grow your audience when you are startinIg out. So I thought I would reach out to podcasters who have been podcasting less than a year and ask them to share who they are, what their podcast is about, and to provide the link to their favorite episode.

So if you are looking to find a new podcast to listen to and don’t know exactly what you would like to listen to…you’re reading the right article. The following are 25 New Podcasters who share a brief explantion of their podcast, including why you should listen to theirs:

The ART-repreneurs Podcast by Brandi Rivera

Hi my name is Brandi! I’m the host of the ART-repreneurs podcast a podcast about creative artists from various backgrounds who are all striving or already are entrepreneurs. I started this podcast in August because I wanted a way to connect with other like minded artists, creatives, and entrepreneurs and encourage one another with our journeys and discuss our trials and successes along the way to entrepreneurship and mastering our craft.

I wanted a way to connect

Beers in The Lot Podcast by Eric Rigsby

I’m Eric and a few hockey buddies and I started our podcast, Beers in The Lot about a month ago. We had been getting together virtually to catch up over a few beers during Covid shutdowns much like we do in the rink parking lot after our beer league hockey games. We thought it was entertaining stuff that other hockey people might enjoy. We share some beers, stories, hockey opinions, and laughs.

The CelebrityKind Podcast by Nehal Dalgliesh

I’m a celebrity news journalist and former red carpet reporter in Australia. I started podcasting to help boost a celebrity news site I was already running (CelebrityKind) dedicated to the humanitarian work and kindness of celebrities. My podcast focuses on positive celebrity news stories only — no gossip/shaming/tearing people down. I also do interviews with famous people and CEOs about how they are using their power and influence to make the world a little better. I hoped that by sharing these stories I might help spread a little kindness and positivity but also showcase the importance of finding purpose and meaning in all that we do. My favourite episode to date is with Hollywood actor and motivational speaker David Bianchi who is paving the way for Afro-Latino actors, has dealt with racism and bullying, overcome addiction and is now living a life full of gratitude. I’ve received so many messages from listeners about how inspiring this episode was and it’s definitely one that I’m proud of.

The Distorted Opinions Podcast by Kayla Creamer

I’m Kayla. My friends, Matt and Ted, and I started Distorted Opinions back in May. We’re musicians and we didn’t have much going on at the time, so we thought we’d start a show about music. It’s actually a video program, but we quickly decided to share it as an audio only podcast as well. We talk about all things music. Everything from our favorite bands to interviews with local musicians and fellow music fans. We also do a monthly Gear Talk episode where we talk about some of our favorite pieces of gear or try to educate our audience on different pieces of gear. For example, we just filmed a show yesterday where Ted talked about drum sticks and all of the nitty gritty deals about stick types, materials, etc. We’ve been having a lot of fun and are starting to bring on more guests, which as added a whole new level of fun.

Oh, and favorite show so far is this interview we just did with my co-worker who lived in Seattle during the early grunge scene in the 90s. Lots of great stories about the venues, the bands, and the scene in general.

The Drunk Conspiracies Podcast by Justin D’Autremont

My name is Justin D’Autremont. I started podcasting cause I’ve always wanted to have my own show and I just finally pulled the trigger on it. My podcast is called Drunk Conspiracies Podcast. Basically like it sounds, I get drunk and talk conspiracy theories with guest.

The ExpertsConnect Video Podcast by Kadian Davis-Owusu

I am a Co-Founder and Content Acquisition Consultant of a recently launched e-learning platform (@teachsomebody.com), which seeks to empower adult learners through knowledge. In Summer 2020, I launched the ExpertsConnect video podcast. In each episode, I have a conversation with a domain expert on topics that are of high interest to the general public. Thus, discussion points are explained in layman terms so people, in general, can understand. In this way, experts can establish their thought leadership on the subject matter and most importantly through knowledge sharing they can help to address issues that people face in their daily lives. Moreover, the show attempts to bridge the knowledge gap especially for those in marginalized communities. In this way, TeachSomebody aspires that through the ExpertsConnect podcast people will be motivated to learn new skills and be empowered to take charge of their careers.

The Film Bug Podcast by Martine Jean

I’m a filmmaker based in Los Angeles. I launched “Film Bug with Martine Jean” a couple of weeks ago to build a platform where indie filmmakers recount the good, the bad and the ugly behind the scenes on the set of one of their first projects. The “Film Bug” podcast gives a glimpse into the independent filmmaking process. I started the podcast because friends and family members, who are not too familiar with the industry, often assume it’s all glitz and glamour. I wanted them to get a sense of what it’s really like. Additionally, I wanted other indie filmmakers, hesitating to take the plunge, to know that they are not alone in the struggle. All of this is explained in the “Film Bug with Martine Jean” podcast trailer. The show uses different storytelling devices interviews including narration, sound effects and music. My hope is to develop it into a tv series that’s a hybrid of animation, re-enactments, live action and interviews.

The Fire in the Belly Podcast by Pete Lonton

”Do you have a ‘Fire in the Belly’?”

What does ‘Fire In the Belly’ mean to you? What is your passion? What is your drive and purpose and where does that come from? Are you being your true self and lighting up the mightiest version of you?

These are some of the questions we seek to answer in this podcast. It is a great privilege to hear from some truly amazing people who are extremely successful in their lives whether it be money, business, achievements or overcoming adversity.

Our guests talk about how they have overcome, excelled, thrived and shown utter-determination to fulfil their potential (and become the mightiest person they can be). The personal journeys, insights and lessons that our guests share on this intimate podcast makes for remarkable listening.

We all have phenomenal potential, but not everyone is living their best and mightiest lives. For many, ‘Fire In the Belly’ is the invisible drive and knowing feeling that comes from deep inside. There is no right and no wrong as its personal.

The OD Podcast by Wesley Demond Roberts

I’m Wes, having so many amazing conversations with people over the years; then realizing how rare good conversations truly are in the modern day I started a podcast. It’s had a couple of different forms but it’s current iteration mainly sees myself giving hopefully more than two cents about the state of the world, pop-culture, “nerd” culture and everything else that affects me. It’s called “The OD Podcast” and I’ve only gotten to 16 episodes but I’ve heard good things.

Sacks and the City by Lyssa Myska Allen

Hi! I’m Lyssa, and one of my friends and I started Sacks and the City, a podcast about football and dating, after too often being in the back of a rideshare arguing football and having the driver turn around and be like “wow, y’all know what you’re talking about!” We’re attempting to bring a fresh, female voice to NFL football recaps, and we weave in stories about dating and what it’s like being single in our 30s.

Shonen Flop Podcast by David Weinberger

I work as an analyst and I decided it would be fun to make a podcast talking about cancelled manga! Essentially we go over what went right, wrong, and what could have saved it from cancelation. I’ve been doing this for about 5 months now and it’s been a lot of fun.

The Shots and Thoughts Podcast by Sean Kyle Salvino

I host Shots and Thoughts, a podcast where we get take shots of liquor and learn a new topic (How the US debt works, how brothels are legal, why dogs sniff each other’s butts, etc.). We also end each episode by playing drinking games where the loser takes more shots.

The Spoken Word by Anamika Podcast by Anamika Dutta

I perform Spoken Word poetry on my podcast. As a chronic depression and anxiety survivor, I know how difficult it is to fall asleep with all the thoughts tangled in my head. Poetry has always helped me relax, it’s my ultimate savior; it’s my truest form of expression and 2020 is the year I’m brave enough to share my poetry with the world. This particular episode is quite a special one. It poignantly describes my last relationship and overcoming as a victim of narcissistic abuse. I have received an overwhelming response for this episode and I hope it will inspire others to share their stories with the world too.

Today’s Lucky Winner Podcast by Brianne Leeson

“Life may not be fair, but the afterlife tries to be.” That’s the motto of the DMV. (The Department of Mishaps and Violence). When Dawn Menendez finds out that she’s met her untimely demise in a freak curling iron/fire sprinkler accident, she’s met with a posthumous opportunity. She was the 777th soul reaped by the department that day. She now has the opportunity to go back to earth for an entire year, chaperoned by the Reaper who took her soul. The only hitch? Before she’s sent back to earth, she learns that her cosmic scale has been found wanting. Her soul weighs just enough to get sent to a hell dimension. What could she have possibly done? Her first night on earth, her reaper suggests that her accidental demise may been murder. If she can prove she was murdered, she gets to be reincarnated, and avoid going to hell. Now, Dawn has a year to prove she was murdered and balance the cosmic scales in her favor. Things would be a lot easier if her Reaper would stop getting high and help her.

The UnSensitive! Podcast by Ray Robinson

I had a radio show talking to local artists, but the non-profit station closed, so I kinda got the interviewing bug. I’ve gotten somewhat political in the last five years, and I’ve been constantly amazed at how little people actually try to learn about people other than themselves. My pet theory is is sometimes it comes from either not knowing what questions to ask, and being too afraid to offend someone to actually learn.

So I created “UnSensitive!” and specifically interview people that can talk about marginalized communities. I ask all the obtuse, brash questions so others don’t have to. Two episodes under my belt so far, about four more in the works. I’m fortunate that a podcasting network owner knew me and has been a huge help getting off the ground.
